In the small independent nation of Pavo, there are two types of health care. One can pay to see a healer, highly educated and expensive. Or one can seek the free advice of the saga, a wise woman (or man) who lives in a little hut. Both professions are highly respected in their own way, but their difference in prosperity is substantial.
When the youngest daughter of a well-to-do banker declares her intention of becoming a saga, her father is having none of it. And so she is sent to the Oppidum Healers' Academy, in preparation for a life of medicine. But before Hen and her classmates can learn to heal others, they must first learn to take care of themselves.

Kit Peacock is an amateur author and poet from rural Derbyshire. This book is aimed at a teen+ age range and contains themes that may be unsuitable for younger children.
