When Nellie realizes she is not dreaming, but rather using formerly untapped psychic abilities to converse with long-dead ancestors, she finds herself swept-up into a world full of guardians, demonic beings, and dark desires. Sent away from her home under false pretenses, Nellie is forced into a slave-like servitude where she is the doormat of her housemaster. When Nellie is given the opportunity to temporarily leave the confines of the manor, negative occurrences bring her face-to-face with her overly protective guardian Marcus. Through Marcus, Nellie begins to piece together the misunderstood details of her life, and sets off on an adventure full of unexpected trials and circumstances including a blossoming romance, the death of her parents, a psychic brother locked away in a mountainside jail cell, dead ancestors speaking messages of anxiety and warning, and a demon that can block the protection abilities of any guardian.
