HOPE DOESN'T KEEP THE LIGHTS ON

Hannah Martin's wedding is the best day of her life. After all, she is marrying Gavin, the man of her dreams; the two of them are meant for each other. She vows to never divorce and cause her future kids the pain her own parents' breakup dealt her.

But seven years later, the couple is hit with the growing demands of three young children and mounting expenses that don't seem to end. Then Gavin is laid off, can't seem to find a new job, and the power is turned off at their home. At her wit's end, Hannah realizes it's time to replace hope with action: She decides it's up to her to step up and save the family. The first order of business is to get a job. The opportunity to work for her best friend Tara's caregiver company is a timely godsend, though it means moving. Hannah packs up the family, settles them into their new home, and dives into her new job-assisting adults with special needs. Soon, however, the challenges of work seem inconsequential when she catches Gavin getting cozy with the neighbor next door.

Once again, Hannah realizes it's up to her to take action. This time, though, the battles are more like wars as this resilient, loving, ingenious fighter takes on infidelity, job instability, parenting, personal attacks, and even a life-changing mystery that arrives via a box in the mail.

Hannah will need to come up with ingenious solutions to all this and more-but will she be able to withstand the hardest shock to her heart when she discovers the two people she should love and trust most in the world conspire against her?
